WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A CONSULTATION?
During the first consultation you will receive a full nutritional assessment. This includes a thorough look at an individual’s eating patterns and lifestyle, family and medical history, related blood results (if available) as well as determining the individual’s anthropometry (body measurements) such as weight, height, body mass index and waist circumference.
The body composition analysis is an optional extra – this device measures fat percentage, muscle mass and hydration status.
This information is essential to provide the individual with appropriate and detailed nutrition education for the management of the problem(s) in question. A tailored treatment plan (including a meal plan if required) can thus be set up with manageable nutritional goals that will suit every individual for reaching their optimal health.
Follow up consultations can be organised in order to monitor progress and if necessary, adjust the treatment plan to better suit the individual – this will enhance the success of the nutrition intervention. Measurements will be taken again and any uncertainties or problems can be discussed so to uphold the individual’s motivation to reach their health goals.
